Expositie Sarah Pedlow - A Thread To Follow

American artist Sarah Pedlow honors living textile traditions and the ways we shape, and are shaped by, what we make. She explores the intersections of textile art, embroidery, photography, and cultural traditions. Now based in the Netherlands, she draws on images from her neighborhood walks and traditional embroidery learned from women in Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, and Portugal. Through a practice of wayfinding, she gathers moments of observation from the street and from what people leave behind, distilling them into patterns and contours. Each artwork maps how threads carry symbols across time and borders. Her stitched drawings invite a contemporary and poetic reflection on place-making, continuity, and belonging.
