Sashiko design and stitching by Selina Ben

In this 3.5-hour session, you will learn the basics of Sashiko stitching, and how to apply traditional Sashiko and freestyle Sashiko designs on your textile projects. Sashiko means “little stab”. Although born out of necessity to improve the strength and thermal quality of textiles in the rural north of Japan, Sashiko creates stunning visual effect by combining intricate designs with only running stitch.
